Bad Day

My house was broken into today. Everyone is fine.

The thieves were apparently idiots. It could have been much worse; I'm doing the closest thing to counting my blessings that an agnostic is capable of.

Unfortunately, they saw some really nice stuff that they weren't able to take. Would anyone be interested in hanging out here with a shotgun during the day until I decide that they're not coming back?

You are corect, criminals are stupid. The smart ones break into beter places, or find a better way to steal.
Whatever your beliefs, criminals are also superstitious. Put a big pentagram on the frond door. With a circle around it. Make it as esoteric looking as you can. If you put it on glass with latex paint it comes off pretty easily later.
Put another one on the place where they got in and anywhere else that looks like a likely entry.

Also, I think you can order the signs that say you have a security contract with out actually having one. Not sure where, though. Hey I know! The internet! :)

Or get your witchy friends to come over and put spells on the house.

Yes to everything everybody said. But while I'm here, I wanted to ask you how your music is doing. You've said a couple of thins indicating that you still think of yourself as a guitar player and sometimes jam. Good! I had seen you as a protege more than a student -- someone with a *lot* of musical potential. Then I got so burned out on teaching guitar that I just didn't want to give anybody another lesson, ever -- broke that for one introductory lesson to bodi_kat the last time I was in Winnipeg -- and didn't follow up to see how you were doing. So how *are* you doing, and did you ever get that left-handed Taylor? (One more thing to keep an eye on, so it doesn't get tagged by the next couple of burglars.)
