I must figure out how to be extremely effective in a way that allows me more free time. I've worked nearly 14 hours today and it's too much. And I need to get up and do it again in 5 hours.

Work isn't usually this bad, but I suspect that it will start to be if I don't figure out how to quash it. Today I refused 3 meetings, saying that they just weren't my top priorities. I suppose that's one way to start. I'm amazingly efficient with my e-mail now. The days that really kill me are the ones like today where I'm booked into participatory meetings for 8 or 9 hours.

At least I got to meet with the realtor today. Lots of people seem interested in the possibility of buying this house; that's always good. I wonder if they want to pay me as much for it as I'd like them to?

These questions and more will be answered if I can be bothered to wake up tomorrow.

Oh, the Son Volt show last night was fabulous - they were incredibly tight as always. I'm so lucky to get to hear so much amazing live music.

I'd agree that 14 hour days are really too much, even though I'm not really in a good position to be throwing glasses...

Refusing meetings is probably a good thing to do. While there are meetings that actually accomplish useful things, I am of the opinion that too many meetings happen because somebody feels the need to do *something*, and since they don't have any idea of what the right thing to do is, they have a meeting.

As far as wanting to pay you as much for the house as you'd like them to - one can always hope.
