I must figure out how to be extremely effective in a way that allows me more free time. I've worked nearly 14 hours today and it's too much. And I need to get up and do it again in 5 hours.

Work isn't usually this bad, but I suspect that it will start to be if I don't figure out how to quash it. Today I refused 3 meetings, saying that they just weren't my top priorities. I suppose that's one way to start. I'm amazingly efficient with my e-mail now. The days that really kill me are the ones like today where I'm booked into participatory meetings for 8 or 9 hours.

At least I got to meet with the realtor today. Lots of people seem interested in the possibility of buying this house; that's always good. I wonder if they want to pay me as much for it as I'd like them to?

These questions and more will be answered if I can be bothered to wake up tomorrow.

Oh, the Son Volt show last night was fabulous - they were incredibly tight as always. I'm so lucky to get to hear so much amazing live music.

My roommate was trying to find people to go with him to the Son Volt show...For whatever reason, all the people he asked had no idea who Son Volt was...I need to start introducing him to more of my other friends...

Fortunately for me, I am nowhere near as important as you are, so I have the ability to decline meetings much more often. "oh, a 4pm - 5pm meeting, meh, I think not."

Phooey. If I were important they would give me a title instead of just throwing money at me. Which you, as a titleholder, should know. Celebrate your own importance and the fact that it doesn't come with 8-12 contractors reporting to you.

"this house..." - is Harriet for sale also, or are you referring to Pleasant?

Both of the houses are on Pleasant. 3601 is for sale; 2713 isn't.

Gotcha. I thought the one further north was on Harriet.

I'd agree that 14 hour days are really too much, even though I'm not really in a good position to be throwing glasses...

Refusing meetings is probably a good thing to do. While there are meetings that actually accomplish useful things, I am of the opinion that too many meetings happen because somebody feels the need to do *something*, and since they don't have any idea of what the right thing to do is, they have a meeting.

As far as wanting to pay you as much for the house as you'd like them to - one can always hope.

I know the feeling of meeting after meeting. Especially when it is 30 minutes meetings back to back for 4 hours... then say a 3 hour marathon to top it off. But it does pay the bills!!!
