(no subject)
Apr. 8th, 2007 10:01 amYay! I got a letter yesterday saying that I was accepted into the State Services for the Blind "Radio Talking Book" and "Tape Textbook" programs. They will be contacting me within the next two weeks with my first assignment.
This means that I get to simultaneously 1) read aloud (which I really enjoy doing), 2) be exposed to books about subject matter that is new to me and that I might not have chosen myself, and (most important) 3) make this material available to people who wouldn't otherwise have access to it.
How cool is that?
I'm pretty jazzed. Also, last night's Neko Case show was a lot of fun.
Son Volt is coming to First Ave. tomorrow. There are still tickets left. I'm going with a group of 5 people; we'll be meeting up for a drink before the show and would welcome others who want to drop in.
