hm.

i had thought you were a fan of the "let's be friends first" model, which i read this as a relatively strong condemnation of, although that could just be because it gives me hives. (hi! raised in the wild by lesbians! i know *exactly* where the local uhaul place is! ;)

I don't read this as a condemnation of "let's be friends first" per se, but a condemnation of "I will pretend to be your friend so you should pretend to want to have sex with me."

I think you and I read the comic exactly the same way.

My "successful" relationships have not followed the "let's be friends first" model. (Possibly the "let's be friends-of-friends first," but that's a strategy for meeting people, not for how to carry on the relationship.)

I think it's tremendously important to be friends with the person I'm involved with. It's essential, but it's not sufficient. I also need to have a strong desire to tear his clothes off.

(I keep typing thins and then erasing them. How about we discuss this over ice cream?)

ice cream would be lovely! this next week i am frantically cleaning my house (although i do have ice cream at my house, if you're really excited about watching me freak out about how many things in my house do not have places to go) but also week after it seems likely there could be ice cream. being as this is minnesota and we don't stop ice cream for a silly thing like winter. :)

I'm not sure I'd want to have my clothes torn off over ice cream. With a little preparation, the messiness isn't much of a problem, but it sounds really too cold. However, I do have a couple of ideas about chocolate mousse which are not for posting on an open thread.
