American Airlines "Lifesaver" Awards

American Airlines today presented Golden Heart awards to 19 flight attendants who have administered emergency medical attention by using onboard defibrillators.

One of these flight attendants refused the award. 10 points and a gold star to whomever can tell me WHY and cite evidence.

Possibly; it's the one thing I found with an apparent connection.

But I heard that one of the flight attendants refused the award and gave some speech to that effect, and I'm curious as to what stand she was taking.

Much as I'd love a gold star, I don't think I'll be able to find anything - most places are just quoting or rewriting the AA press release AFAICT, and the first link Google gives me for one query I thought of to find any information is... this journal entry.
