Warm Fuzzies

Ah! What a lovely thing this life is!
I feel so lucky to have such kind friends who invite me into their homes and their lives: I spent a beautiful Solstice in quiet contemplation, which was, I believe, precisely what was called for. And since then I've been a social butterfly, seeing delightful people and doing fun things. Oh, and a heck of a lot of shoveling.
Tonight was the Boxing Day celebration. It was such a pleasure to see everyone again, and to get to talk with so many of you! Thanks to
mizzlaurajean,
davidschroth,
buttonlass, and
lollardfish for throwing such a blowout soiree! Special thanks to
saracura for bringing a long lost friend to us! Thank you,
chasophonic, for indulging me in that one last song. I love waltzes in general, that song in specific, and the way you perform it especially.
Yesterday's "Widows, Orphans, and Jews" party was another great pleasure. Thank you,
minnehahas for giving me someplace to be on Christmas! I got to talk with a few folks whom I haven't seen nearly enough of lately. I'm not sure about this "falling out of touch with people for months on end," business, but it does make for very nice reunions. Special thanks to
davidschroth for the ride home. Also, I'm still looking for the brown street signs, but I'm sure I'll find some soon.
The pageant on Christmas Eve was beautiful! I finally heard the Christian nativity story the whole way through (I'd somehow managed to miss it thus far), so that's useful culture. Also, Holy Heavenly Host, Batman, but there were a lot of them! In a congregation of 900, I would swear that a third had some part in the pageant.
Sunday was perfect in its own quiet way.
Saturday I had a yummy dinner made by a friend of a friend whose company I really enjoy (yes, both). And I somehow ended up with a quarter of a chocolate-pecan-caramel cake out of the deal. Yay!
In other news, my metabolism seems to be getting more efficient - if I sit still for even a few minutes I feel cold, but as soon as I start moving around I become toasty warm. This is very effective at keeping me from freezing when I walk outside, so I'm treating it as a Good Thing. I just have to remember to put on an extra sweater when I settle in.
I'm hoping that your week has been as good.
Good night!
