Nature or Nurture?

Very interesting abstract about recent pediatric research suggesting that having at least one supportive adult around can counteract genetic risk factors for depression (abstract contains a link to the full study): http://blog.sciam.com/index.php?more=1&title=can_nurture_save_you_from_your_own_genes

Also, I'm back among the living and ready to report for graffiti duty as needed.

Funny you should mention that....

I was just thinking, earlier, how unfortunate it was that I hadn't taken someone up on their extremely generous offer regarding the sharing of knowledge/tools about the removal of graffiti from the walls of garages...

Thanx for the link I like reading this sort or thing....

One supportive adult can be the best protective factor for any kid facing many different risk factors. Hence why mentors can be so valuable. And a good teacher etc.

maybe we found my problem....

People take graffiti off of things? Weird. Just goes to show you that I haven't had a supportive adult to tell me otherwise...Does reading blogs from responsible adults count?

If you can find a responsible adult, by all means, try to read her blog. I don't happen to know too many, myself, and I'm afraid if I did the blog would be dead dull.

As it turns out, there's no need to take graffiti OFF something unless someone has first put it ON. I hope you haven't had to contend with nearly so much on-putting as I have lately.

Turns out the "on" stage of graffiti is self inflicked in my world....So I guess I get what I deserve. Ever get the feeling that most of your problems would go away if you didn't cause them yourself?
