...I don't need a "meme" to tell me; I know what kind of nuts I am. I just organized the 200-odd books in my dining room according to the Dewey decimal system.

Because, you know, it’s not like I have anything more important to do.

(I'm just glad that my other thousands of books are upstairs in boxes, safe from my ministrations.)

If anyone wants a bunch of Scientific American magazines from 2002-2003 and/or all of the Penzey Spice catalogs (with recipes) from 2003-present, speak now or forever hold your peas. I'll be putting them out with the recycling in 10 days unless someone comes to get them first.

After my stint working in the ASU library, I found I preferred the Library of Congress system to the Dewey Decimal system.

Chacun a son gout.

I don't think we own enough non-fiction to justify that kind of organization.

The Penzey spice catalogs seem a bit of a reach, but the Scientific Americans...

Interesting. I've never used either before, I just sort of vaguely arranged things by subject and amused myself with what flowed into the grey areas (oh, of COURSE business goes between the bible and abnormal psychology).

I'll hold the SciAms for you. Would you be willing to trade a cooler for them?

How about donating them to a local school library?

While it would amuse me greatly to trade something of yours that you want, for something of yours that you don't want, it appears that a Higher Authority has ruled that the Scientific Americans will have to find a different home.

Getting coolers (and potting soil, and helium balloons) back where they belong is likely just a matter of coordination. It's no problem walking them back if I know there's a good possibility that there will be someone there to receive them when I do so (I'll admit it would help to know where I'd be walking them back to - I know it's only a few blocks away, but that's largely the extent of my knowledge).

If I had actually had my brain engaged, I probably should have tried to trade a cooler for a meme post that hasn't happened yet...

Don't you dare get those magazines!
You are still working your way through the pile you have.
