Saw this idea in [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson's journal. I like the idea of journalling a week at a time - I might actually find time to do it.

Saturday: Started to sift through the piles of papers that I always swear I'm never going to accumulate again. Fell asleep and was out cold when Kate came by; fortunately she's persistent. Tim showed up and we went to the Bad Waitress for lunch. Eric's parents came by. We shared beer and conversation, but I got a narsty headache and so pushed the three of them out the door to go have dinner without me. They went to Pizza Nea.

Sunday: Cleaned portions of the house. Went to picture framing class, built a small frame. Walked home. Played guitar. Monkeyed around on computer. [livejournal.com profile] short_angry came over and shared some port and conversation. Cleared my calendar for Monday so as to work on our project plan.

Monday: Worked from home, in a sweatshirt and jeans. It's absolutely amazing to me how much more I can get done if I'm not in the office, where interruptions are frequent. Eric came home for lunch - I made chickpea chhole over brown rice. Got the PMP mostly done. Scheduled time to review it with my boss late morning Tuesday. Halfheartedly tried to whittle down my e-mail. Hah. Practiced my guitar lessons. Read about wood finishing.

Tuesday: 8:00 meeting and ensuing discussion. Whee. Spent the rest of the morning finishing my draft of the PMP. Meetings all afternoon. Had drinks with my Director, who is delightful. She drove me home. Voted. Wandered down toward the woodworking store, which was closed, but found that the toy store across the street was open. Bought toys. Enjoyed the gardens along the greenway.

Wednesday: Slept in until 6:45. Bused to work. Meetings most of the day, but carved out a couple of hours to make some necessary phone calls. Cleared my calendar for Thursday morning so as to prepare for a midday presentation. Played a bit of guitar.

Thursday: Walked to work with Mum. Bought Haralson apples on the way in. Spent the morning putting together a training proposal and the afternoon in meetings. Forgot to eat lunch again; had an apple during a meeting and then grabbed a Special K bar between other meetings. Walked to guitar lesson, displeased with myself for not having gotten enough practice this week. A friend from work drove me out to Ridgedale Library for the International Institute for Business Analysts meeting. Eric picked me up and we went to the Independent for a flaming Mai Tai and spinach ravioli.

Friday: Went in to work for a few hours - bleah. Friday is supposed to be my flex day. Walked in with Mum. Left at noon, wandered down the mall, got home and took a nap. Nibbled on leftover pizza. Cleaned my office. About to go to the Greg Brown show at the Fitzgerald Theatre, and then a late dinner afterward.

I know I've forgotten a lot, but dem's de bones of my week.

It's odd looking at a whole week at a time, isn't it? You realize how much time happens that you don't really even notice.

Indeed. And yet at the same time, when I focus on each day, it seems to become more intricate than I can believe (much like [livejournal.com profile] pegkerr's fractals).

I always wanted to be one of those people who completes things (either concrete things like making this picture frame or things that have some perceptible result, like practicing the guitar). I think perhaps I'm finally becoming that person.

I think I know what sort of "toys" you got.....

You had a cameo appearance in a dream of mine this week. It was a very weird dream with people shooting at the house I was staying in. I actually got knicked by a bullet of two. Damn stress dreams!

Smart girl. :)

I'm sorry to hear about the stress dreams. I missed your move date, but if there's anything I can do to help out with the new place, let me know. I'd love to see you again soon.

Hey! My new place is a super disaster at this point, but we should surely hang out. I may have a festival out of town this weekend, but new week I am for sure free. What day should we get together?

The Independent

What do you think of the Independent?

I like the Independent's happy hours quite a lot. They have very nice snacky foods (the teriyaki wings in particular are sweet, crisp, and moist) and excellent frou-frou drinks, all quite reasonably priced.

As for dinner, it's fine, but by no means mind-blowing. We went there because I wanted a fancy drink and didn't really care about food.

It tends to be busy during the late evenings and prohibitively so on the weekends.

I also like their golden-age pinup-girl art.
