Good day, with interesting challenges: woke up late after the Cracker show, but still got myself showered and into work in time for my first meeting, which (mercifully) wasn't until 8:30. Invited myself to a meeting with the tech team about what each of our partners will deliver in our coding phase, successfully delegated document management details to two coworkers, met with a vendor who can help our organization but (due to project constraints) not right now, led a brainstorm and found areas of potential project risk, was officially informed of new project direction, and faced someone who could unintentionally negate the real value of our project if I were to allow it. (I won't allow it. I don't care about rank; truth and his boss are on my side.) Left work and had cocktails with a couple of friends whom I haven't seen nearly often enough lately. Arranged to see them again on Sunday.
Learned that I will have to explain to our scribe what the term "brainstorm" implies, that I really MUST show our leader how he is going to be successful even in light of changed (and changing) business needs, and that certain people will always be there for me.
