Mmm.
Got to sleep really early last night - around 8:00. Sham-woke once at 2:30 and then woke for real at 4:45. Got up, showered, did all that nonsense, and walked to work with the sunrise.
Had a good day at work. Got clarification on delivery of design artifacts, presented the Reference Implementation to our BAs and BUCs, finished my mid-year self-review, edited someone else's self-review (that's what friends are for), drafted a Y --> x flow down based on real business goals instead of our silly techie interpretation of them, established standards for document storage and began sorting out the change control question, scheduled lots of meetings with lots of people, picked up on some pre-publication news from my old team and began planning for tomorrow's risk identification session.
And then I got to meet up with Eric at the Cracker show. Eric is wonderful. Contrary to appearances, I'm in no danger of forgetting that.
Cracker is also wonderful, but not the same magnitude of wonderful. They put on a very fine show tonight. They're the only band I know whose lyrics include mention of someone's PGP key. Oddly, though, that was the only song that didn't hold me tonight; the song wants big strings and they use a synth to emulate that. So you get a couple passages where no-one on stage is actually *playing* anything, and I found that somewhat distracting.
And now, off to bed. Good night!
