Leaving on a Jet Plane

You people sure do write a lot. Thank you, and keep up the good work. But I know that when I go out of town, even for a weekend, I won't have time to catch up with LJ when I come back, so I'd like to tender my apologies in advance for missing whatever I miss this weekend.
And now I'm off to Calgary for the Calgary Folk Festival. When I saw the lineup I just couldn't resist (my very favorite singer-songwriter will be there, among many other beloved artists), and I convinced my Mum to go with me.
I truly hope Mum has a great time. She doesn't travel much - in fact, she hasn't flown in the last 24 years. I want to set a precedent for vacationing together.
The weekend couldn't be more promising: we're heading to a beautiful city and staying in a nice downtown hotel within walking distance of the festival that's hosting the best lineup of musicians this year, and it should be around 28 (82 F) and mostly sunny for the duration. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that everything lives up to its promise.
Take care, everyone, and try not to melt (or worse) in this weekend's heat.
