tesla | (no subject)

minnehaha K has offered me the letter S, and I am now charged with finding ten "S" words that have some personal significance:

Southpaw: The significance of my left-handedness keeps mutating, but is always present. Once upon a time it just meant that the side of my left hand was constantly stained with graphite, then that I had to find a "goofy" guitar, later that I became careful of which seat I grabbed at the lunch table, and most recently that the side of my left hand is constantly stained with whiteboard marker.

Synergy: I've joked that my title at work should be "Mistress of Synergies" because a big part of what I do involves connecting people who have complementary needs and skills/information so that they can pursue solutions together.

Southern Comfort: My drunken father's poison-of-choice

Seventeen: The age that I always thought would be my favorite and in fact turned out to be my least favorite thus far.

Scotland: I took my first overseas + international vacation last summer. It was a tour of pretty much the entire country of Scotland.

Sex: I'm not going to explain this one.

Song: Another of my favorite things.

Science Fiction: or Speculative Fiction - it's directly or indirectly provided me with introductions to and common ground with many wonderful people, including most of my LJ friends.

Spring: My favorite season; everything comes to life and greets the returning sun (much like myself).

Serendipity: I have a firm belief that ideas, people and things arrive in my life unprovoked just when I need them most.

I guess this is supposed to become a meme, meaning that I should offer to keep it going. So I'm handing out letters if anybody wants one....
